League's General Secretariat condemns Israeli occupation raids on Syria

​The General Secretariat of the League of Arab States strongly condemned the raids carried out by the Israeli occupation forces on Syrian territory, including those targeting the General Staff headquarters in Damascus and the vicinity of the Presidential Palace. The General Secretariat regards these attacks as a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of an Arab state, a member of both the League and the United Nations, and a breach of international law and the principles of the international order.

General Secretariat participates in Third International Expo on Global Supply Chain Development

​A delegation from the General Secretariat, headed by Ambassador Ahmed Mustafa Fahmy, head of the League of Arab States' Mission in Beijing, and Mr. Ahmed Shaaban, head of the Arab-Chinese Economic Cooperation Department at the Department of Economic Relations/Economic Affairs Sector, participated in the Third International Expo on Global Supply Chain Development. The event is held at the Shunyi Pavilion of the Beijing International Exhibition Centre in Beijing, China, from 16 to 20 July.

Palestine deposits its instrument of ratification of the Agreement on the Regulation of the Transport of Goods by Land Between Arab States

​The State of Palestine deposited with the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States on 14 July its instrument of ratification of the Agreement on the Regulation of the Transport of Goods by Land Between Arab States. The agreement was approved by the Economic and Social Council through Resolution 1916, Ordinary Session 89, dated 29 February 2012, and by the Council of the League of Arab States through Resolution 7551, Ordinary Session 138, dated 5 September 2012.

​In implementation of Resolutions 1176 and 1165 adopted by the Council of Arab Youth and Sports Ministers at its 48th Ordinary Session held on 31 January 2025, and under the generous patronage of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States organised the launching ceremony of the Executive Plan for the Arab Strategy for Youth, Peace, and Security, alongside the official inauguration of Amman as the Arab Youth Capital for 2025.

Aboul Gheit receives Chinese Premier Li Qiang

​Mr. Ahmed Aboul Gheit,  Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, received Chinese Premier Li Qiang at the headquarters of the General Secretariat on 9 July. Mr. Li was accompanied by the Chinese Ministers of Finance and Commerce as part of a high-level delegation. The meeting took place during the senior Chinese official's visit to the Arab Republic of Egypt.
